Methane conversion enabled by iron catalyst delivers pharmaceutical compounds

Researchers at CiQUS have developed an iron-based catalyst to control methane reactivity, which allows natural gas to serve as a feedstock for chemicals used in medicine. Methane, ethane, and propane are the primary components of natural gas. Though widely used as fuel, their chemical stability previously limited their conversion into valuable products for industry.
