British shale set for real-time monitoring

In a regional first, the British Geological Survey said Thursday independent monitors would study two hydraulic fracturing sites in Lancashire in real time. "This ground breaking research will provide new scientific insight and innovative ways of monitoring the environment impact of shale gas development," John Ludden, BGS executive director, said in a statement.
