Tesla said Wednesday that revenues more than doubled in the past quarter compared with a year ago, as the electric carmaker prepared for production of its new mass-market vehicle.

Twelve workers died following an explosion in a high-speed rail tunnel in southwestern China, state media said Wednesday, after rescuers spent over 14 hours searching the rubble for survivors.
